Title: Unfinished plans.
Fandom: Torchwood

“Get a gun.” Gwen looked shocked at what Jack had just said. “Get a gun.” Jack repeated. Something in the back of the cell moved. Human form with inhuman speed, sticking to the only shadows to the back of the cell, pacing backwards and forwards which Jack could only watch, he needed her for his plan to work. After tonight they would have about twenty seven days to get everything ready and sorted before she would be like this again. There was a loud bang as the creature flung itself at the boundary of the cell. Jack could really only stand and watch again at this point. She’d told him to lock her up, told him that if she got bad he was to shoot her. With tranquiliser or even live ammo if it got that bad, if there was no silver involved she’d be fine. Jack didn’t want to shoot her, but he would if needed. He frowned as she collided with the glass again. Gwen came back just in time to see that happen.
“That has to hurt.” Gwen winced as it happened again, handing over a pair of guns to Jack. “One Owen has loaded with enough tranq to take down an irate elephant.”
“Will that be enough?” Jack looked from the gun to the glass, where he now saw blood. Gwen spotted it too as she glanced over before looking to Jack as she held out the second gun she had brought over. “Live?” Gwen nodded as she looked back.
“Are you sure that she’s safe enough in there?” Gwen’s voice sounded concerned, though for who, herself, Jack, anyone else in the building or the creature was uncertain. “Why is she even acting like this?”
“Don't know…” Jack was faced with an even more curious Gwen. "I don’t want to think what that bitch did to this one.” There was a flicker of something from Gwen at that comment but it was soon lost as once more the thud of their captive hitting the glass was heard.
“You don’t like her do you?” They weren't talking about the female werewolf, Jack was talking about Yvonne. It was from her their current guest in the cells had been rescued from.
“Stating the obvious there.” Jack tucked the gun with the live ammo under his belt so he could grab it if needed, the other he carefully examined checked the safety was off and held it level as he tried to figure out where exactly would be the best place to aim the tranq dart to hit. “Can’t get a clear shot.” Jack took a step towards the door, Gwen put a hand out to stop him, and then took it back as he stopped, she pulled a gun out. Jack raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
“I’m not stopping you. I’m just ready.” Jack nodded, it was good to know someone was watching his back. Jack opened the door enough for him to clearly get a shot in, he knew she was smart normally, so he didn’t want to give her any opportunity in this state. Raising the gun again he lined up his shot, only one chance.
Jack pulled the trigger and watched as the dart hit.
Then fall out.
The human form became clearly lupine in the shortest amount of time, it was the inhuman snarl that went along with it that drew the moment out.
“Oh fuck…” Jack calmly reached for the other gun he’d kept looking up to the werewolf who was now far too close. Remembering she’d said to if it got that bad. Shoulder, leg would work at causing enough of a distraction for him to get away. The werewolf stared down at him, he lifted the gun slightly. The werewolf turned away, then slammed the door to her cage open and headed for Gwen. “Don’t think so.” Jack shot the werewolf without a second thought. Leg and shoulder just to make sure. The werewolf let out a howl as she fell heavily to the floor before Gwen.
“You alright?” Jack stepped round the large mass on the floor. Gwen looked at him for an answer as to what happened. “Body shuts down, to allow recovery of the injuries, point blank like that she’ll be out til tomorrow now.” Jack pushed the body with his foot. “See.” He then bent to pick up and drag the fallen werewolf back into the cell, gesturing to Gwen to throw a blanket over that was put over the unconscious creature and left. “I need a drink.” Jack said as he shut the door.
“You need a drink.” Gwen said incredulously, “What about me?”
“Fine, I’m buying.” Jack relented, she had nearly been attacked by a werewolf after all.
